The Top 5 schools by arrests this year yields a surprising team on top

It's been a weird year for a couple of teams.

This isn't exactly the list you want to be ranked on, but one college football team has taken a commanding "lead" for the most arrests/citations/charges in 2017.

According to Arrest Nation, Alcorn State leads all college football teams with a total of 19 arrests this year. Alcorn State has the lead after an April cafeteria brawl that led to the arrests of the players.

Two of the Alcorn State players were later arrested again outside of the courthouse ahead of their trials. Seven of the players were eventually found guilty of simple assault charges.

Coming in at second on the list is Louisiana-Lafayette, who had 13 players who were originally arrested for conspiracy to commit felony theft after an incident in April. The players in question eventually had the charges dropped to a misdemeanor, and charges could be dropped completely if they complete the necessary drug testing and community service.

Finishing out the "Top 5" for 2017 are Western Kentucky (6), Michigan State (5), and a tie between Oklahoma and Utah State (4). Full stats can be seen at ArrestNation.com.
