While the two-sport athlete has all but vanished in today's landscape, there are a few athletes out there who still manage to balance the talent to excel in two disciplines at a high level. Oklahoma quarterback Kyler Murray was drafted 9th overall by the Oakland Athletics in the 2018 MLB Draft, and he's leading the Sooners towards a potential Big 12 Championship and, possibly, back-to-back berths in the College Football Playoff.

No one is having a better all-around 2018 than Murray, and his Heisman campaign is officially in full swing with the regular season winding down. The two-sport star delivered a throwback for the ages to fuel his campaign when he posted a recreation from none other than two-sport legend Bo Jackson.
The diminutive Oklahoma Sooners quarterback stands 5-foot-10 and weighs 195 pounds, but he plays like he's seven feet tall.
Murray is in the midst of putting together the first season in NCAA history where one player averaged 300 passing yards and 60 rushing yards per game. He's also scored 39 total touchdowns through the Sooners' 9-1 start to the season.
Not only is he a game-breaking quarterback, but he's going to be one of the top outfield prospects in all of Major League Baseball when he reports to spring training in 2019 — In the 2018 baseball season, Murray had a .296 batting average, hit 10 home runs with 47 RBIs in 27 games for the Sooners.
Murray plays both sports at a high-level, and while he'll be giving up football to pursue baseball full-time after this season, he couldn't let the opportunity pass him by to pay homage to another two-sport legend.

Murray recreated the iconic Bo Jackson photo from the famous "Bo Knows" Nike campaign showcasing the two-sport athlete, who won the 1985 Heisman Trophy playing for the Auburn Tigers before playing in both the NFL and MLB as a Pro Bowl running back for the Los Angeles Raiders and All-Star outfielder for the Kansas City Royals.
The iconic black and white image with Jackson wearing shoulder pads, complete with a baseball bat across his back, is an awesome tribute to a legend that links these two forever as the #KylerKnows campaign grows on social media.
Regardless if Murray can pull off a major upset of Alabama's Tua Tagovailoa and hold off West Virginia quarterback Will Grier to win the Heisman, this Oklahoma Sooners season is one of the best in school history, especially with Murray taking over for No. 1 NFL Draft pick Baker Mayfield. Murray's sheer athletic talent is unreal, and all signs point to him having a long baseball career ahead of him.
It's always great when the present honors the past, especially when a great like Bo Jackson is brought back into the mix.
