With a degree in hand and one year of eligibility remaining, Notre Dame quarterback Brandon Wimbush could have played anywhere next season. Things didn't exactly go well with the Fighting Irish, so he decided to have a little fun in his final graduate transfer year.
In an Instagram post shared Tuesday morning, the 6-foot-2, 220-pound signal caller from Teaneck, New Jersey announced he will transfer to play for head coach Josh Heupel and the UCF Knights.
So get your popcorn ready, UCF fans. You have another talented quarterback ready to compete for yet another undefeated regular season in 2019.

A dual-threat quarterback, Wimbush could become the starter as soon as he leaves South Bend and steps foot on the Orlando campus after McKenzie Milton, who threw for 6,700 yards and 62 touchdowns the past two seasons, suffered a gruesome knee injury, and his return to the football field remains uncertain.

After starting 12 games in 2017, and becoming the third quarterback in school history with over 1,000 passing yards (1,870) and 500 rushing yards (803) in the same season, Wimbush started the Fighting Irish's first three games this season before being replaced by Ian Book.

Book, who will be a senior next season, led Notre Dame to the College Football Playoff before losing to the eventual-champion Clemson Tigers in the Cotton Bowl.
Meanwhile, the Knights, led by quarterback Darriel Mack Jr., lost to the LSU Tigers in the Fiesta Bowl, which snapped the nation's longest winning streak at the time.
So how does 15 career starts, over 2,500 passing yards, over 1,000 rushing yards and 36 total touchdowns sound? The former Notre Dame quarterback's resume should sound pretty good for Central Florida fans and pretty scary to defensive coordinators in the AAC.
