T.J. Finley was the most popular guy in town heading into Auburn's matchup against LSU. He stepped in and led the Tigers to a desperate second half comeback over Georgia State after Bo Nix struggled to get the offense going. As is the case for a backup to a struggling starter, fans wanted to see what the LSU transfer could do.

Despite Finley's success, the offense has been under Nix's command ever since he stepped foot on campus. His grasp on the position wasn't as firm as it has been, but he wasn't going to concede.
He proved why he was the man for the job. It all started with a play straight out of "NFL Street."

Fourth-and-two, down 13-0, the crowd at Death Valley was screaming with all its might. LSU held all the cards and Auburn's offense needed to score. Auburn head coach Bryan Harsin elected to keep his offense on the field at LSU's 24-yard line. Three points? How about six.
It was the perfect time for Nix to reach up his sleeve for a trick. He takes the snap and rolls to his right. No one is open. He makes two LSU defenders miss. He rolls to his left, pump fakes, gets a defensive lineman to bite and rolls towards the left sideline. Just when Auburn fans thought they were witnessing a disaster, Nix shakes off another LSU defender and fires a laser to tight end Tyler Fromm a split second before getting crushed. Fromm, who was wide open, hauls it in for the touchdown.
13-7 LSU.
The schoolyard spark is all Auburn needed. The Alabama Tigers outscored the Louisiana Tigers 17-6 from that point on, securing the 24-19 victory. It was Auburn's first win in Baton Rogue since 1999.
For Auburn quarterback Bo Nix, it was the game of his life. He finished with one passing touchdown, one rushing touchdown, 255 yards through the air and 74 yards on the ground.
People ask all the time what a struggling QB can do to solidify his status as the guy. A monumental win in Death Valley isn't a bad place to start.
