When you think of great Texas A&M Aggies quarterbacks, who comes to mind? Is it Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel? What about Ryan Tannehill? Those are two strong options, especially in present day, but nobody should ever forget about Bucky Richardson.
Richardson was tough as nails. There's no better way to put it. His time in College Station doesn't jump off the page statistically, but anyone who watched him battle at Kyle Field in the late 1980s and early 90s knows the kind of impact he made.
Whether it was during the regular season or in bowl games, Richardson always brought his lunch pail. He even played a few seasons in the NFL, too, before calling it quits.
Today, he's back in Texas with his wife and three kids.
Bucky Richardson's Football Career

Born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Richardson arrived at Texas A&M University ready for an opportunity to showcase his talents in college football. Little did anyone know he would eventually take the Southwest Conference by storm.
Richardson was thrust into action as a freshman in 1987 by head coach Jackie Sherrill. He led the TAMU football team on the final drive to beat Texas, helped secure the SWC title, and guided A&M to a victory over Notre Dame in the Cotton Bowl.
The rest, as they say, is history.
Richardson is described as a "quarterback with a linebacker attitude." He was special and ultimately became one of the best football players in school history. The 1990 Holiday Bowl win over BYU is proof.
An All-American Honorable Mention in 1991, Richardson threw for over 3,000 yards with 14 touchdowns, while adding over 2,000 rushing yards with 30 more scores during his career. He went 10-0 as a starter his senior year, which included another SWC championship.
Richardson was selected in the eighth round by the Houston Oilers in that year's NFL Draft. He also spent time with the Dallas Cowboys and Kansas City Chiefs, but never played in the regular season. He left football after the 1996 season.

Former Texas A&M quarterback Bucky Richardson lives in Missouri City, Texas. He is married to his wife Tracy and has three kids.
His son, John Paul Richardson, is a three-star wide receiver for Ridge Point High School and has committed to play college football for the Oklahoma State Cowboys next season.
For over 20 years, Richardson has been working for Environmental Improvement, Inc., in Houston. He is currently listed as a Manufacturers' Representative.
