Jessica Ofelia Mendoza is married to Adam Burks, an Eastern Washington University graduate and former U.S. Marine who served in Operation Desert Storm in Iraq.

Burks and Mendoza tied the knot in 2006 — two years after they met at a mutual friend's wedding.

Together, they have two sons. Their first child is named Caleb Ashton Burks and the youngest son is Caden Adam Burks.

After the birth of their boys, Burks, who had been working as a civil engineer decided to stop working and become a stay-at-home dad. Mendoza often posts pictures of her family to social media.

Burks, a U.S. Marines veteran, isn't the only one close to Mendoza who has served in the military. Her father, Gil Mendoza, served in the Army.

Jessica Mendoza's Softball Career

Jessica Mendoza's softball legacy is much more than being a gold medalist at the 2004 Olympics.

Mendoza, who was born to Gil and Karen Mendoza, began playing softball at Adolfo Camarillo High School in Southern California. She also has three siblings: brother Walt and two sisters Alana and Elena, all of whom are of Mexican descent.

After high school, Mendoza played for Stanford University softball team, where she was earned the 1999 Newcomer of the Year Award and was named a four-time First Team All-American. She also helped the Cardinal win its first NCAA Women's College World Series in program history.

Mendoza then took her softball career to the National Pro Fastpitch league in 2005 as an outfielder. She was consistently one of the best players in the league, and won the Player of the Year award in 2011.

In 2008, the American star played in her second Olympic games, helping Team USA secure a silver medal in Beijing.

 Broadcasting Career & Net Worth

After her career on the softball field, Mendoza — like many successful athletes before her — stepped into the broadcasting booth.

In 2014, Mendoza began working for ESPN's Baseball Tonight as a color analyst. Her career as a sports broadcaster also saw her cover the Women's College World Series and feature on Sunday Night Baseball.

Additionally, Mendoza landed herself a role within MLB, working as a front office advisor for the New York Mets.

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Mendoza boasts an estimated net worth of $2 million.
