Jordan Brand and Nike are releasing the next iteration of the classic Air Jordan 1 silhouette, the Air Jordan 1 High OG WMNS "Chenille" aka "Newstalgia."

The Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG likely needs no introduction, but this is a brand new colorway with a twist, so it's not a straight-up retro. Sneakerheads have been looking for Nike and Jordan to do more colorways like this, and it appears the brand has been listing to the feedback.

This brand new colorway will be a Women's Air Jordan exclusive, and will also be available in Kids (GS) and Toddler's (TD) sneaker sizes. The "Chenille" takes its name from the Varsity Red hairy chenille swooshes that adorn the side panels. The rest of the shoe is made up of white leather with Varisty Red leather overlays, along with Light Iron Ore (grey) leather around the collar section. This rides on a Sail midsole and Varsity Red outsole.
At first look, this particular Jordan 1 seems to be blurring the lines between the classic Jordan 1 and the equally classic Nike Dunk. In fact, there are rumors of a "Chenille" Dunk High and Nike Dunk Low to be following later this year. Both models share a lineage, so this is not unheard of. On top of that, the shoe contains Varsity Red as the predominant color, which is always a popular color for Jordan models, as it is one of the colors of the Chicago Bulls. The Newstalgia Chenille might just be the next "Chicago 1" for Michael Jordan's sneaker brand.
Release Date and Price
Since being pushed from its original intended release date back in February, the Air Jordan 1 High OG "Chenille" will now be released on the SNKRS app and at select retailers on July 23rd with a retail price of $170 USD, which is $20 more than what was asked for the Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 Low Reverse Mocha and the Nike Air Force 1 exclusive which dropped earlier this week.
