As the quarterback of the Michigan Wolverines, Tom Brady was good. He wasn't special, by any means, definitely not what he is today with the New England Patriots, but still good enough. The collective body of work in college and the NFL, however, has a prominent UM figure calling for a statue to be built on the Ann Arbor campus in his honor.

On his podcast, "Attack Each Day," former Michigan quarterback and current Wolverines head coach Jim Harbaugh said it's time for his alma mater to immortalize Tom Brady with a statue after winning his sixth championship in Super Bowl LIII against the Los Angeles Rams last year.
"I think it's time, don't you, for a Tom Brady statue to be built here," Harbaugh said. "Right in front of Schembechler Hall, or do you put it at the stadium? Where do you put the Tom Brady statue... The tunnel? Maybe the tunnel? Where do you put it? Maybe some of the listener can give us some feedback."

Arguably the greatest quarterback in NFL history, more commonly known as The GOAT, Brady, a San Mateo, California native, played for the Wolverines from 1995-1999 under head coach Lloyd Carr. He threw for 4,773 yards with 30 touchdowns and 17 interceptions during his four seasons.
Brady started every game for Michigan football during the 1998 college football season and was the main starter in 1999, despite splitting time with fellow quarterback Drew Henson.
The rest is history. Brady was selected by New England in the sixth round of the 2000 NFL Draft — serving primarily as the backup to starting quarterback Drew Bledsoe — before taking over under center as the Patriots quarterback and winning six Super Bowl titles with head football coach Bill Belichick over the past two decades.
"I think we can all agree right now, though, right? Tom Brady, he's lapped the field in football," Jim Harbaugh continued. "He's lapped the field. He's synonymous now with Babe Ruth with Michael Jordan.. The university he attended should build a statue."
Despite not having a stellar college career, the Michigan coach has a point. Tom Brady, for everything he's accomplished, probably deserves a statue. Whether it's on the University of Michigan campus or at the Big House is irrelevant. What matters is it happens for the six-time Super Bowl champion.
There will come a time when a Tom Brady statue exists at Michigan Stadium. Perhaps Jim Harbaugh lobbying for it on his podcast will help speed up the process.
