No matter the sport, or the location, surprises can happen at every turn. It could be a lucky shot by a fan or a cleat getting stuck in a helmet or even a moth flying into an umpire's ear. These are the type of moments that are hard to forget, and now one couple has a lasting memory from the New York City Marathon this past weekend.

As Kaitlyn Curran was approaching mile 16 of her first marathon near the Queensboro Bridge, according to CBS News, her longtime boyfriend Dennis Galvin hopped over the barrier along the street and got down on one knee to propose.
She said yes, of course, and then left to finish the race.

This is definitely another moment the couple from Jersey City, New Jersey and their families will always remember, but it also has some questions that need to be answered.
Was it selfish of Dennis to propose just past the midway mark of the 26-mile race? Or was it sweet? Should he have waited until the end? What do you think was going through Kaitlyn's head the last 10 miles? Why didn't she give the family her sweatshirt she clearly didn't need at that point?
According to Dennis Galvin's cousin, Kathleen Figueroa, it was meant to be a big surprise and he wanted to pop the question at the first Manhattan stop of the race, she told CBS News.
"They're both very happy," she said. "We can't wait for the wedding."
Kaitlyn Curran woke up Sunday morning with the goal to earn a medal at the NYC Marathon. She definitely got that and took home another piece of hardware after an engagement celebration at the finish line.
