There are three almost-certain things in college football these days: The Alabama Crimson Tide will be in the College Football Playoff, Mike Leach will tell it how it is, and a certain newly hired offensive coordinator will make almost every woman blush when he walks into the room.
Sure, the last one is completely irrelevant, but there?s no denying new USC offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury is a good-looking dude. It was apparently important for the Trojans to let all of the single ladies in Southern California and the Pac-12 Conference know that he is available, too.
In a press release filled with promising quotes and solid accolades for the 39-year-old coach ? from his glory days as Texas Tech?s quarterback to his NFL playing career to his latest stint as the Red Raiders? head coach before being fired after six seasons ? the very last sentence is what will grab some people?s attention.
?Born on Aug. 9, 1979, he is single,? the release concludes.
There you have it, ladies. You?re in luck.
The USC Trojans officially hired Kingsbury on Dec. 5 after the former All-Big 12 quarterback turned coach at his alma mater was rumored for numerous vacancies, including in the SEC.
Kingsbury was fired last month after compiling a 35-40 overall record, including 19-35 in Big 12 games, as the Texas Tech Raiders head coach from 2013-18. He was replaced by former Utah State Aggies head coach Matt Wells.
As one of the bright and top offensive minds in the NCAA, it?s safe to say USC head coach Clay Helton got a good one in Kingsbury after former offensive coordinator Tee Martin was let go and quarterbacks coach Bryan Eliss left the program.
Perhaps Kingsbury loves the single life. Maybe the former Texas Tech coach only loves football and wants to focus coaching the next Heisman Trophy winner like he did at Texas A&M. But regardless, it?s absolutely hilarious that was included in his hiring press release and you better believe some people will take notice to the new offensive coordinator in Los Angeles.
