On October 31, most of us are preparing incredible costumes to show off at office parties or trick-or-treat runarounds with the kids, but it was mostly business as usual down in Tuscaloosa. With the massive Alabama versus LSU game creeping over the horizon, there was one big birthday surprise in order to break the tense mood.

Alabama Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban turned 67 years old on Halloween. The legendary football coach entered team meetings as you'd expect — fully equipped with notes and glasses ready for another round of meetings and preparation — until his team and staff surprised him with an Alabama-sized party.
The head coach has built a dynasty in the SEC at the University of Alabama, but there's one big fact that we need to start paying attention to — Since Nick Saban came to Alabama, the Crimson Tide have had an open date, bye week during the final week of October in all but two seasons (2008 and 2012).
Has Nick Saban placed a monopoly on having his birthday weekend off of work? Maybe, but six national championship titles and 226 career wins will certainly give you all the freedom you want to celebrate in style.
Heading into a team meeting, Saban, prepared as always with notes and glasses, walked into his entire team playing with inflatable guitars in an Eagles-themed party, a band Saban has seen in concert five times, and some Edgars Bakery treats waiting for him on his 67th birthday.

One of the greatest football coaches of all time has an undefeated team in 2018 that's primed for another College Football Playoff berth. The Crimson Tide have grown into a must-see brand for the end of the season, and that's a direct result of Saban's ability to recruit players and build a complete program.
In 2007, Alabama football had the 12th-ranked recruiting class according to 247Sports. After that, Nick Saban brought home a top-five recruiting class, including seven-straight top-ranked classes from 2011 to 2017. He's become an icon in the state of Alabama, and he's someone that every top-flight player wants to come play for.
The iconic coach is beloved for his consistency through the years, and he received plenty of birthday love on Twitter and social media from around the college football world.

It was a special day for the Alabama head coach, but I guarantee that Saban's birthday wish will be knocking off the LSU Tigers on Saturday night in Baton Rouge. A win would green light Alabama for an SEC championship game berth, and most likely, a guaranteed spot in the College Football Playoff.
Happy birthday, Coach Saban!
