Think about the last time you saw a kick returned for a touchdown. Remember the excitement, the sound of the crowd and finally, the strength and stamina it takes to weave through your opponent. Avoiding tackles, finding openings and sprinting towards daylight.

More often than not, you're actually remembering a punt return, as those are a little bit easier to exploit for football players with insane speed. That being said, you don't have to look too far to find a recent example of a kickoff return. That's because Texas A&M running back Devon Achane decided to show off with a 96-yard kickoff return touchdown for the Aggies in their Week 2 matchup against the Appalachian State Mountaineers.
And you thought the Alabama-Texas game was exciting. Just wait until you see this.

Any college football fan will tell you that a game against App State is not to be taken lightly. Don't believe us? Ask Michigan.
After heading into the second quarter down a touchdown to the Sun Belt giant slayers, Achane took matters into his own hands. With the ball on the Aggie 26-yard line, Achane took the ball from QB Haynes King and didn't stop running until he reached the endzone, knotting the game at 7-7. Jimbo Fisher and the Texas A&M Aggies were on the board, but the College Station rusher wouldn't stop there.
Following an App State touchdown in the third quarter that would put the Mountaineers up 14-7, Achane decided to put the entire Texas A&M football team on his back during the ensuing kick return.
Catching the kick on the Aggie 4-yard line, Achane sprinted through the App State special teams squad, only hitting turbulence around the A&M 40-yard line. After that, no one could touch Achane has he crossed the goal line and into the endzone. See you on ESPN, Devon.
However, App State would not go away quietly.
Upsets in the Air
After their season opener against Sam Houston, a game that was delayed for hours due to lightning, it's clear that the Aggies are a solid football team with weapons on the ground like Achane and through the air in Ainias Smith. But in Week 2, the Aggie effort simply would not be enough to keep App State from leaving with a big victory.
In the first two game slates of the day, two major upsets have taken place that will be sure to rock next week's rankings. With Notre Dame falling to Marshall and Texas A&M's loss here, it almost seems like Nick Saban and Bama made a deal with the devil to stay undefeated.
A&M will look to get back on the horse in Week 4 as they face off against Mario Cristobal and the Miami Hurricanes. But for now, the 12th Man can enjoy this highlight as they wait for the next game.
