Little Leaguer's Incredible Diving Play Makes Him a Viral Star

Playing third base requires some serious glovework and quick reflexes. Balls are often smoked down the line and at the infielder's ankles. They don't call it the hot corner for nothing.

If you've ever wondered what some of the greats like Manny Machado, Chipper Jones or George Brett looked like as a kid, then look no further.

A 7-year-old third baseman is taking the Internet by storm because he has better fielding abilities than most high schoolers. In fact, he could probably start for the Pittsburgh Pirates today if he wanted to.

This is Trenton, and you may want to remember his name.

His dad, Christopher Rocha, posted the video under his Twitter account named "T's Dad - Chris" with the caption, "I'm just gonna leave this here without commentary."

Don't worry, Chris, the Internet did enough commentary.

Trenton's diving stop and the dart spin throw that came after has been viewed more than five million times on Twitter. Even ESPN reached out to feature the clip that has been retweeted more than 22,000 times on its social media channels.

Why? Because 7-year-old Trenton is an absolute phenom judging from that play.

Social media had a field day over the clip.

"I've watched this 10 times, as a baseball guy, what impresses me most is how he moves TO the ball, WATCHES it into his glove, then has the balance to make that throw...that play was no fluke, that's talent," one user wrote.

"Impressive all the way, great pull hit down the line. Great stab, back up and throw in case they didn't count the line drive catch. Awesome," another wrote.

It's not the first time Trenton has garnered attention online. Popular YouTuber account Jomboy broke down a video of him batting back in December 2020.

Personally, I can't wait to hear Trenton's name called in the 2031 MLB Draft.
