St. Thomas Aquinas

This Florida HS Powerhouse is a College Football Talent Factory

If you've ever watched an NFL or college football game, chances are you were watching a player who went to St. Thomas Aquinas High School. It's a private school located in South Florida's Fort Lauderdale that has been an absolute factory for NCAA-ready gridiron athletes.

Many of those players go on to play in the NFL, and the names are no average joes. Geno Atkins, Joey Bosa, Gio Bernard and Marcus Gilbert are just a few of the many active players from the school. Even one of the league's greatest wide receivers ever — Michael Irvin — is a proud St. Thomas Aquinas Raider.

Even given that information, St. Thomas Aquinas' latest send-off on national signing day is nothing short of spectacular.

The Raiders produced a whopping 24 players who signed National Letters of Intent to play football at the next level. That sounds like, well, the whole freakin' team.

It should be no surprise that St. Thomas Aquinas led the country with 17 alumni on NFL rosters in 2018. This latest class, as well as past years, figures to only add to that number.

What's more astounding is that the Raiders have had 103 football players sign to play college football over the last five years. The numbers indicate an upward trend, too.

STA had 21 signees in 2018 and 2017, 20 in 2016 and 17 in 2015. A majority of the athletes sign with Power 5 schools.

So thanks St. Thomas Aquinas, and keep cranking them out.
