Matt Flynn Married a Former Beauty Queen & LSU Golden Girl

Former NFL quarterback Matt Flynn never got much of a chance as a starting QB in the league, serving primarily as a quality backup throughout his journeyman career.

Flynn made just seven starts throughout his seven years as a pro.

While Flynn was a serviceable backup, no one was rooting harder for him to get a starting gig than his loving wife Lacey Minchew.

Former American football player Matthew Flynn — not to be mistaken with Maroon 5's drummer Matt Flynn — met his wife Lacey Minchew in 2003 while at LSU.

Flynn was a quarterback on the football team and Minchew was a Golden Girl, a member of the Tigers' dance team. The pair didn't start dating until 2008 and were married in 2013.

Minchew is a former Miss Louisiana winner who was convinced by her mother to join the Louisiana State University dance team. Her mother was also a Golden Girl, so it clearly means a lot to the family.

Minchew pursued a career in acting and moved to Los Angeles after college, forcing her and Flynn into a long-distance relationship as he began his NFL career.

The pair have three children together, whom Minchew frequently posts pictures of on social media.

Matt Flynn's Football Career

Matt Flynn played four years for the LSU Tigers, leading the team to a BCS National Championship victory over Ohio State in his senior season.

The Robert E. Lee High School graduate and Tyler, Texas native was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the seventh round of the 2008 NFL Draft. He spent his first four seasons in the league serving as the backup quarterback to Aaron Rodgers, winning a Super Bowl with the team in 2010.

Flynn signed with the Seattle Seahawks as a free agent in the 2012 offseason, spending one season with the team before splitting time in 2013 between the Oakland Raiders and Packers. Flynn played his final season in the league in 2014 with the Packers.

Despite getting chances with the New Orleans Saints, New York Jets, Buffalo Bills and New England Patriots, Flynn never played another snap in the NFL after the 2014 season. He finished his career with seven starts and 17 touchdown passes.

Per Spotrac, Flynn made a total of $19.2 million in career earnings and reportedly boasts an estimated net worth of roughly $10 million.
