Vendor Arrested After Charging Dolphins Fan Over $700 for 2 Beers

Going to an NFL game is far from cheap. In fact, it's more expensive than a pair of designer jeans. Whether it's tickets or concessions, prices can be absolutely outrageous at times. A Miami Dolphins fan was prepared to spend a little extra money at Sunday's game, but he was charged an absurd amount for beer at Hard Rock Stadium.

Look, the Dolphins are terrible. There might not be enough alcohol to cure the NFL franchise, or its fans, after a dismal 0-4 start. All one fan was trying to do was order a couple of beers on a fine day in Miami Gardens, Florida to watch his struggling team play the Los Angeles Chargers.

Little did he know at the time, that fan was charged $724 for two beers on his credit card by a beer vendor looking to get some extra money of his own.

According to WPLG Local 10 News, 33-year-old Nathaniel Collier was arrested and faces charges of third-degree grand theft and possession of a skimming device.

The arrest affadavit, obtained by WPLG, said the vendor used a Square reader to scam the victim. Police said he used the personal card reader to charge over $700 for two beers at the Miami Dolphins game.

The Dolphins fan and ticket holder was alerted by his bank shortly after the game day incident in South Florida.

The Miami Dolphins are not the New England Patriots. This team is a long, long ways from competing for a Super Bowl. Hell, they would be lucky to make the playoffs in the coming seasons. The University of Miami Hurricanes actually have a better chance to make the College Football Playoff than the Dolphins do the NFL playoffs.

So while season ticket prices are not overly expensive, it's hard to imagine there's comfort going to these games if there's a chance even the most die-hard fans could get scammed over $700 for a couple of drinks.

Luckily, police said Collier was taken into custody without any incident, and there's no doubt he will learn his lesson for messing with fans at a game.

Let's just hope the next round of beers that goes into the fan's koozie will be much cheaper.
