Former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Miles Austin enjoyed a solid career in professional football.
The two-time Pro Bowler was one of Tony Romo's top targets during his prime and lasted 10 years in the NFL.

Miles Austin grew up in Summitt, New Jersey, and attended Garfield High School in the area. The wideout played college football at Monmouth University before departing the program in 2005.
Austin went undrafted in the 2006 NFL Draft. Still, he signed on with the Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted free agent after an impressive training camp.
Across eight years with the Cowboys, Austin played in 106 games and logged 301 receptions and 34 touchdowns. He made two Pro Bowls and featured in four playoff games but never made the Super Bowl.
Austin led the NFC in receiving yards in 2009, when he racked up 1,320 yards. He went for over 100 yards five times that season in games against the Chiefs, Giants, Falcons, Raiders, and Saints.
After featuring in just 11 games in 2013, Austin signed with the Cleveland Browns in the offseason on a one-year deal. He caught 47 passes in Cleveland before joining the Philadelphia Eagles the following offseason as a free agent.
Austin's one year in Philly was his last season in the NFL, and he retired in 2015.

While Austin walked away from football in 2015, the sport tends to lure people back in. That's exactly what happened with Austin — except he returned as a coach.
In 2017, Austin returned to the Cowboys as a pro and college scouting intern. It was Austin's first time trying his hand out as a coach, and he was impressive despite his lack of experience. He applied to become Dallas' wide receivers coach in 2018, but the job ultimately landed with Sanjay Lal.
In 2019, ESPN reported Austin signed a deal with the San Francisco 49ers to become an offensive quality control coach. He helped guide the 49ers to Super Bowl LIV, but they were defeated in their matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs.

When ex-49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh was hired by the New York Jets as head coach, he signed Austin to the coaching staff to serve as the wide receivers coach.
Coaching isn't all Austin has accomplished since retiring from the NFL. The former wideout returned to school in 2018 to complete his degree in political science, according to the Asbury Park Press.
