Oh, Kristen Saban. It's time to stop talking and log off social media.
Alabama head coach Nick Saban's daughter, Kristen Saban Setas, has been known to fire off one too many opinions on Twitter. She's been crushed for them, too. She defended her dad back in October when he seemingly blamed Jaylen Waddle for his own injury. She was also accused of beating up her sorority sister years ago.
Now, Kristen has finally deleted her Twitter account (at least for now) after a very insensitive tweet about the Ohio State Buckeyes before they play in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game.

Reports indicated that Ohio State may have to postpone the national title game because coronavirus cases and COVID-19 issues. That would mean playing the game on January 18 instead of January 11 in Miami as scheduled.
Kristen wasn't thrilled to hear this, and she fired away on Twitter on Tuesday night:
"If you're not confident to play then SAY IT. I call BS on the COVID cases. They're just worried about their QB and want him to have more time to heal. If he's hurt put in your backup. You didn't see us postpone the rest of the season to wait for (wide receiver Jaylen) Waddle. BYE."
Almost immediately after, everyone chimed in that she was wrong. She posted an apology accompanied by the words "I'm so sorry." She also deleted her Twitter account entirely. I wonder if papa Saban told her to pipe it.

"The tweet I posted earlier this evening was uncalled for and hurtful. I made a huge mistake and I apologize. In a moment of frustration, I let my anger get the best of me and acted before thinking. I sincerely regret my choice of reckless words. In no way did I intend to undermine the seriousness of the global pandemic and my heart goes out to those it has affected. The health and safety of others is first and foremost and I pray that we all can find peace soon. I am ashamed and embarrassed. I hope you can forgive me," she wrote in the since-deleted tweet.
Yikes.
This pandemic has affected so many people and families this year. More than 350,000 people in the U.S. alone have died from it. To say Ohio State is using it as an excuse to buy time to get players like quarterback Justin Fields healthy is extremely insensitive. Ohio State played its semifinal game against Clemson without starters and still won.
OSU has been dealing with coronavirus problems all season, which is why they've had to cancel so many games. Even head coach Ryan Day tested positive at one point. The Maryland, Illinois and Michigan were all canceled, but the Big Ten allowed Ohio State to play in the Big Ten Championship Game against Northwestern anyway.

To make this whole mess sadder, Kristen took away from a glorious night for Alabama football. DeVonta Smith won the Heisman Trophy in a virtual ceremony on ESPN. He beat out likely NFL Draft first-overall pick Trevor Lawrence, Florida's Kyle Trask and teammate Mac Jones. The last time a receiver won the award was Desmond Howard in 1991.
History has a tendency to repeat itself. Dabo Swinney disrespected Ohio State before they ousted him from the CFP in the Sugar Bowl. The Crimson Tide may have taken care of Notre Dame with ease, but the Buckeyes can now thank Kristen for some much-needed incentive to kick 'Bama's butt.
