Kris Bryant Married His High School Sweetheart & Started a Family

Chicago Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant is one of the best at his position in Major League Baseball. The 6-foot-5 power hitter has done nothing but produce at Wrigley Field since the team called up him to The Show.

The 2015 National League Rookie of the Year hit his first MLB home run against Milwaukee Brewers staring pitcher Kyle Lohse, and followed it up with his second dinger off none other than New York Mets ace Jacob deGrom. He added to his sensational start to his career when he won the 2016 NL MVP Award.

The 29-year-old has blasted more than 140 home runs, made three All-Star games and helped the Cubs break the Curse of the Billy Goat by winning the 2016 World Series.

Bryant has been a mainstay in Chicago's lineup and manned the hot corner with ease since he was taken second overall in the 2013 MLB Draft.

It's an open secret among fans that Bryant is more than just a third baseman, he's ranked consistently among MLB's most attractive baseball players because he truly puts the "hot" in hot corner.

It turns out the baby-blue-eyed Bryant is not a free agent, however.

Who is Kris Bryant's Wife Jessica Delp?

Kris Bryant is married to his high school sweetheart and wife Jessica Bryant. She was born Jessica Delp in Kris' hometown, Las Vegas, Nevada, to David and Yoko Delp.

Jess has a brother, Tomo Delp, who played baseball alongside Bryce Harper at College of Southern Nevada in 2010 and for the University of Maryland afterward. She also has a sister, Joyce Delp, who played softball at Towson.

Kris and Jessica met for the first time back in high school and began dating their freshman year at Bonanza High School. They were both athletes (she played basketball and softball) and graduated together in 2010.

Kris headed out west to play ball for the University of San Diego, where he won the Golden Spikes Award given to the nation's top collegiate player. Meanwhile, Jessica stayed home and attended UNLV. They made the long-distance relationship work throughout college.

When Jessica graduated from college in 2014, she began traveling around the country with her future husband until he was called up by the Cubs in 2015.

At his very first MLB press conference he dropped a line about having a girlfriend, showing just how serious the two were about each other.

It's clear from Jessica's social media accounts she's her husband's No. 1 fan. She's in the stands for all of his games, stood by him on the float during the team's World Series parade and even went to the Jimmy Kimmel Live! studio with him after the 2016 MLB Playoffs.

Kris & Jessica Bryant's Wedding

When Kris Bryant fielded the final out to the 2016 World Series in Cleveland, he earned his first ring on the diamond. The following year, he picked out a diamond ring for the love of his life.

Jessica stared into the MLB superstar's blue eyes to say "I do" and they tied the knot on January 7, 2017. The wedding took place in their hometown of Las Vegas, which is the perfect party destination anyway.

Many of Kris' Cubs teammates dressed up and supported him at the wedding, including Anthony Rizzo. Even Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Bryce Harper made an appearance with his wife, Kayla.

Harper and Bryant used to play each other growing up in Sin City.

The Bryants Are World Travelers

When he isn't blasting home runs during the regular season in Illinois, Kris and his wife like to travel the world.

During the 2017 offseason, they took what looked like a blast of a trip through Europe. They've visited countries like Italy and Austria. They've also enjoyed themselves at cities around the United States and even took a trip to Disney World in Orlando, Florida.

Kris & Jessica Bryant's Son

Jessica Bryant announced that she was pregnant in November 2019 much to the delight of fans in Wrigleyville. She then gave birth to the couple's first child, a baby boy named Kyler Lee Bryant, in April 2020 during the coronavirus pandemic.

Chicago Cubs' Kris Bryant sent out a tweet sharing the news from his Twitter account, @KrisBryant_23.

Bryant has stated before that he values fatherhood above all else, including baseball.

"I think this is really what I've been put on this Earth to do, is be a dad," Bryant said during an in-game Spring Training interview. "Obviously I play baseball pretty good, but I'm just so excited [for] this new journey with my wife and my family. Honestly, I think this is going to be one of the best years of my life."

The new parents have their hands full with a newborn right now, but baby No. 2 could already be in their thoughts.

Jessica Keeps Busy With Charities

There isn't a whole lot of personal information out there on Jessica, but we know that she's a pretty charitable lady.

She helped organize a Cubs team auction in 2015 and has done plenty more work with the team's off-the-field efforts as well. It's clear from her posts that she's gained a whole new group of friends from staying active with Kris Bryant's teammates' wives.
