Being the starting quarterback of the New York Giants means your play on the field is open to criticism in the biggest media market in the United States.

Daniel Jones learned quickly when he was the sixth overall pick by the G-Men in the 2019 NFL Draft. Jones relieved two-time Super Bowl champ Eli Manning as a rookie quarterback in the third game of the season, leading New York to a thrilling one-point win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He's been serviceable in the meantime, although he hasn't quite proven he's "the guy" just yet.
Playing in the city that never sleeps also means your personal life is front page news. Jones doesn't have to worry about that much these days since he broke up with his college girlfriend.

Jones met his ex-girlfriend Ella Bonafede when they were both students at Duke University. Daniel quarterbacked the Blue Devils football team and Ella played on the women's lacrosse team.
Bonafede was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and grew up in Long Island, New York. She attended St. Anthony's High School and was a four-year ACC Academic Honor Roll member during her time in Durham, North Carolina. She currently attends the NYU School of Public Health, according to her LinkedIn.
Bonafede naturally became a Giants fan and was supportive of Jones on social media when they were together, giving him a special shoutout the night he was drafted:
"So unbelievably proud of you Daniel, I cannot wait to be cheerin' you on in NY...Lets Go Giants!"
Her last post involving the NFL QB was a happy birthday post in May 2020:
"An oldie but goodie, you and the pic. Hbd boo."
The two appeared to break up sometime in the past year and Bonafede unfollowed her ex and made her Instagram account private. You can still find Jones at @danieljones3.
Giants quarterback Daniel Jones is still searching for love. For now, he's concentrated on throwing more touchdowns than interceptions for Joe Judge's squad.
