Weird things happen in sports all of the time. From crazy plays to dancing to even streakers and flashers, there are no limits to what might take place at any given moment. Absolutely nothing proves that more than when the Tennessee Titans inflatable mascot ate a cheerleader during an NFL game.

Back in September 2010, before social media was really a thing, the Titans shredded the Oakland Raiders at Nissan Stadium. The 38-13 final score meant the season opener was a success for the home team in Nashville. What took place during the fourth quarter, however, was something fans everywhere should never forget.
Titans quarterback Vince Young and running back Chris Johnson both scored two touchdowns that afternoon. The team's mascot, T-Rac, devoured an NFL cheerleader.

No matter how hard you try, there is no way you won't watch that video at least five times. It's just too damn funny. The Titans cheerleader's fake pom pom punch, the NFL mascot's unthinkable act, and the CBS announcing crew's reaction, it was all perfect.
"It's always great when the mascots and cheerleaders get together," the CBS play-by-play said right before the climactic moment. "WHOA! ENGULFED!"
"That's... not right," he added so perfectly.
"You gotta Alka-Seltzer," the other announcer chimed in. "That's some serious indigestion."
No, watching Tennessee Titans' T-Rac devour a cheerleader wasn't right, but it's also what makes the trending video so great. Many others agree it's some funny stuff, too. It has over 2.6 million views on YouTube, for crying out loud.
Oddly enough, it wasn't the first time something so ridiculous has happened. The Toronto Raptors mascot ate a team dancer during a NBA game with the New Jersey Nets months earlier.
While their skits might be cheesy, sports mascots are great, and it will be nice to have them back after the coronavirus pandemic and COVID-19 outbreak.
