The NBA is experiencing an international takeover. Luka Doncic gleams with crafty scoring highlighted by his signature step-back three. Nikola Jokic may be the best passing big man of all time. Kristaps Porzingis is a unicorn.

Headlining the list is Giannis Antetokounmpo, the Greek Freak, who ascended to an MVP through sheer dominance.

Early Life

Giannis Sina Ougko Antetokounmpo was born to Charles and Veronica Antetokounmpo on December 6, 1994 in Athens, Greece. Charles and Veronica immigrated from Nigeria just three years earlier and settled in the Sepolia neighborhood of Athens. Basketball runs in the family. Giannis has two older brothers—Francis and Thanasas—and two younger brothers—Kostas and Alexis. Thanasis is a teammate on the Milwaukee Bucks, and Kostas currently plays for the Los Angeles Lakers. Alexis is a senior at Dominican High School in Milwaukee.
