At SummerSlam 2018, Becky Lynch started her rise to becoming one of the most popular WWE superstars of the following year. Carmella was defending her SmackDown Women's Championship in a triple threat match against Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair. Flair won the match, commencing yet another title reign. This drew the ire of Lynch, who felt like she was being held back. As a result, Lynch turned heel for the first time since being on the main roster, attacking Charlotte. However, very oddly, this move actually propelled her to become more popular, as fans continued to cheer her despite being booked as a villain.

Despite being a staple competitor in the women's division, "The Man" Becky Lynch could be heading out after WrestleMania 36. Rumors are now circulating that Lynch and her boyfriend, Raw Tag Team Champion Seth Rollins, could be taking some time off after the event to possibly recharge, and even go further in their relationship. If this is true, it would mean that Lynch could be losing the title at WrestleMania.
Lynch Wins First-Ever WrestleMania Women's Main Event
At the 2019 Royal Rumble, Becky was unable to defeat Asuka for the SmackDown Women's Championship. However, due to an ankle injury suffered from Lana, Lynch was able to enter the women's Royal Rumble match. Lynch surprised the crowd by not only entering the match at number 28, but win the match and cement her title opportunity at WrestleMania. Lynch chose the WWE Raw Women's Championship, held by Ronda Rousey.
Vince McMahon inserted Charlotte Flair as a replacement for Lynch, who he suspended for 60 days. However, Lynch competed against Flair at Fastlane, to give her an opportunity to be reinserted into the title match. Lynch won by disqualification after being attacked by Rousey, and the match at WrestleMania 35 officially became a triple threat.
Becky Lynch's Rumored WrestleMania 36 Plans
At WrestleMania, Lynch handed Rousey her first pin in the main event of the card, winning both titles as a result of the match becoming a winner-take-all following Charlotte defeating Asuka on SmackDown to win the women's title. Although she lost the SmackDown Women's Championship to Charlotte at the following pay-per-view, Money in the Bank, Lynch has retained the Raw Women's Title since winning it last year at WrestleMania.
Currently, Raw Women's Champion Becky Lynch is rumored to compete against Shayna Baszler at this year's WrestleMania, who attacked her on a recent episode of Raw. However, Baszler needs to get past Natalya, Liv Morgan, Asuka, Ruby Riott, and Sarah Logan at Elimination Chamber to secure this spot. This would be a rematch between the two from Survivor Series, which also included Bayley.
