14 Perfect Halloween Costume Ideas for SEC Fans of All Ages

If you're like me you probably get stuck wondering what you should be for Halloween. Zombies, skeletons and clowns can only be done so often, and sometimes you just want to be your favorite athlete when October 31 rolls around.

If you already own the jersey of your favorite athlete or from the SEC school you root for, this is a cheap and easy way to dress up. If not, it's an excuse to go buy that Florida Gators jersey or LSU Tigers football helmet you've been dying to have. It's also a good way to stick out from the countless referee costumes and cheerleader costumes.

Whether you're looking for men's costumes, women's costumes, adult costumes, toddler costumes or baby costumes, most of these sports costumes can be modified to fit what you're looking for and are easy to find on Amazon.

Heck, you can even turn some of these into pet costumes.

The coolest part about the best halloween costumes for every SEC fan is that you can use each of these more than at just the Halloween party; You'll be a hit on game days while tailgating or at the bars. Trust me, everyone will wish they were you.

Alabama: Bear Bryant

A classic.

Nobody has more wins as head coach of the Alabama Crimson Tide. Paul "Bear" Bryant was a certified Navy badass and once fought a bear for $1. You'll be the coolest cat in Tuscaloosa wearing his signature houndstooth pattern. A Joe Namath-inspired look using a fur coat and a replica Super Bowl ring ain't bad either.

What you'll need:

Houndstooth Fedora

Houndstooth Suit

Women's Houndstooth Suit

Honorable Mentions: Joe Namath, Nick Saban

Auburn: Bo Jackson

Everyone knows Bo. Who can forget the iconic photo of the multi-sport star wearing shoulder pads with a bat behind his shoulders? You'll be a hit dressed like this legendary Auburn Tiger and one of the greatest professional athletes of all time. Just try to stay away from carrying around a real baseball bat.

What you'll need:

Shoulder Pads

Fake Baseball Bat

White Baseball Pants

Honorable Mentions: Cam Newton, Charles Barkley

Florida: Tim Tebow

Nothing says Florida Gators like Tim Tebow. The two-time National Champion and Heisman Trophy winner is the perfect costume for fans of the orange and blue. To make this costume a real touchdown, you're gonna need some of his famous eye black and, of course, a bible.

What You'll Need:

Eye Black

Tim Tebow Florida Jersey

Honorable Mention: Steve Spurrier

Georgia: Herschel Walker

The man who helped the Georgia Bulldogs win their last championship in 1980 is the easy choice here. Herschel Walker once brought UGA the mascot to the Heisman Trophy ceremony when he won the award. I'd just pick up a replica trophy for this football player costume instead of borrowing someone's bulldog.

What you'll need:

Herschel Walker Georgia Jersey

Heisman Replica Trophy

Georgia Football Helmet

Honorable Mentions: Matthew Stafford, Kirby Smart

LSU: Odell Beckham Jr.

OBJ has given us so much content to work with since the New York Giants drafted him out of Louisiana State University. Everyone knows him for "the catch," so the wide receiver gloves are a must. To make this football costume really pop, you're gonna need a fake gold watch (he wore a pricy one in a 2019 game) and maybe a friend to carry around a kicking net. Read the Beckham kicking net story if you don't remember.

What you'll need:

Wide Receiver Gloves

Odell Beckham Jr. LSU Jersey

Kicking Net

Fake Gold Watch

Honorable Mentions: Ed Orgeron, Shaquille O'Neal

Ole Miss: Laremy Tunsil

Laremy Tunsil's gas mask video scandal the day of the NFL Draft rocked the football world. It turned out to cost him a good chunk of change as he slid down the first round. The former Ole Miss Rebels tackle has done well in the NFL, though, and there's nothing wrong with poking a little fun with this costume. In the smoking video, Tunsil is wearing a white T-shirt. To let everyone know who you are, you'll need the jersey.

What you'll need:

Gas Mask

Ole Miss Jersey

Honorable Mentions: Eli Manning, Hugh Freeze

Tennessee: Peyton Manning

Peyton Manning is by far the best quarterback in Rocky Top history. I thought about putting together a costume based on one of the numerous commercials he's been in (Nationwide, Papa John's), but I think keeping this one to a simple football uniform is for the best.

What you'll need:

Peyton Manning Tennessee Jersey

Tennessee Football Helmet

Honorable Mentions: Alvin Kamara, Paul Finebaum

South Carolina: Jadeveon Clowney

Probably the most feared defensive player in the country during his playing days for the Gamecocks, Clowney became the first overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. If you can't find Clowney's South Carolina jersey, then you might need something Houston Texans related to complete this costume.

What you'll need:

South Carolina Jersey

Houston Texans Football Helmet

Honorable Mentions: Will Muschamp, Steve Spurrier

Kentucky: John Wall

I tried to keep this list mostly football. The Kentucky Wildcats have obviously been mostly a basketball school up until recently under Mark Stoops. With so many superstar basketball players to pass through Big Blue Nation, why not the man who had a song (and a dance) named after him?

What you'll need:

Kentucky Basketball Jersey

Blue Arm Sleeve

Honorable Mention: John Calipari

Missouri: Michael Sam

The Tigers just haven't had many prominent players enter the NFL, and Michael Sam's name is by far the most recognizable. The St. Louis Rams drafted the 2013 SEC Defensive Player of the Year in 2014, making him the NFL's first openly gay drafted player. What could be seen as a controversial costume is actually a good chance to celebrate Sam.

What you'll need:

Missouri Football Jersey

Rams Football Helmet

Honorable Mentions: Blaine Gabbert, Max Scherzer

Vanderbilt: Jay Cutler

Cutler finished his career for the Commodores as the school's all-time passing yards leader. He went on to lead the Chicago Bears, among other teams, in the NFL. For a fun twist on this costume, you can add a cigarette — a nod to the popular Smokin' Jay Cutler meme.

What you'll need:

Vanderbilt Jersey

Chicago Bears Football Helmet

Fake Cigarettes

Mississippi State: Dak Prescott

Before he was the starting quarterback for America's Team, he starred at Mississippi State. Why not dress up as the Bulldogs' career leader in literally every passing statistic possible? No, really, look it up. Add a cowbell to really get on the neighbors' nerves while you trick-or-treat.

What you'll need:

Dak Prescott MSU Jersey

Dallas Cowboys Football Helmet

Arkansas: Jerry Jones

Only real Arkansas Razorback fans know THE Jerry Jones actually played football on the 1964 national championship team. He went on to accrue a boat-load of money as the owner of the NFL's most valuable franchise, the Dallas Cowboys. You'll find it's not hard to replicate the look of a billionaire.

What you'll need:

Fake Aviator Sunglasses

Dallas Cowboys Hat

Suit and Tie Costume

Honorable Mention: John Daly
